Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-23 · Effective October 23, 2026

Summary, not a substitute for the terms below: DECT is a subscription. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. All payments are final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the owner and operator of DECT ("DECT", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your subscription to, and use of, the DECT software, including the desktop, web and mobile applications, updates, and related services (together, "the Software").

You accept these Terms by ticking the box that states you agree to them when you subscribe, by accepting them inside the Software, or by using the Software. If you do not agree to every provision, do not subscribe and do not use the Software. If you subscribe on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

2. Subscription License

While your subscription is active and paid, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Software on one (1) device at a time. You may move your license to a different device; the previous device will be deactivated automatically.

Your subscription is a license to use the Software for the period you have paid for. It is not a sale. You do not acquire ownership of the Software or of any copy of it. Your right to use the Software ends when your subscription ends for any reason.

One subscription covers the Software on Desktop and Web (macOS, Windows and the browser). The iPhone and iPad app is not yet available. If and when it is released, it will be sold separately through Apple's App Store, under Apple's terms, and it is not included in the subscription. We make no commitment that it will be released, or released by any particular date, and its absence is not a ground for any refund or credit.

The Software checks your license online from time to time. An internet connection is required for activation and periodic validation.

3. Plans and Prices

DECT is offered as a monthly subscription, billed every month, or a yearly subscription, billed every year. The price, currency, and billing period that apply to you are the ones shown at checkout when you subscribe. Prices do not include taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any applicable taxes.

Launch offer. Subscriptions started before Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (the end of Friday, October 30) receive a launch discount: on the monthly plan, the discounted monthly price applies to the first twelve (12) monthly billing periods only; on the yearly plan, the discounted yearly price applies to the first year only. After that, your subscription renews at the regular price then in effect. The launch discount applies to the original subscription only. It cannot be transferred, combined with other offers, or restored after the subscription is cancelled or ends, and it does not apply to a new subscription started later.

4. Automatic Renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, for a period of the same length, and your payment method on file is charged the then-current price for your plan at each renewal, until you cancel. When a launch discount ends (after the first 12 months on the monthly plan, or after the first year on the yearly plan), renewals are charged at the regular price then in effect. You authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method for each renewal without further action from you.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your account page at dect.app/account. Cancellation stops future renewals. It takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. Your access continues until that date, and then it stops. No further charges are made after cancellation takes effect.

Cancelling does not entitle you to a refund or credit for the current billing period or any part of it. To avoid being charged for the next period, you must cancel before the renewal date. If you have trouble cancelling, email support@silo.center before the renewal date.

6. All Payments Are Final. No Refunds.

ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. By subscribing, you agree that you will not receive a refund, credit, or partial refund of any amount you have paid, in whole or in part, for any reason, except only as stated in Section 7.

Without limiting the above, no refunds or credits will be given for:

If you have a technical problem, contact support@silo.center and we will try to help. Support is not a refund.

7. The Only Exception: Refunds Required by Law

Nothing in these Terms removes a right to a refund that applicable law gives you and that cannot be waived by contract. If such a right applies, we will provide a refund only to the extent the law requires, and no further.

Consumers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other places with a statutory withdrawal right for digital content: when you subscribe, you expressly request and consent to immediate access to the Software (digital content supplied without a tangible medium) before the end of any withdrawal or cancellation period, and you acknowledge that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal once supply has begun. Supply begins when your license key is issued, which happens immediately after payment.

8. Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. We will tell you about a price change for your plan by email to the address on your account at least thirty (30) days before it applies to you. A new price takes effect at your next renewal after the notice period. If you do not agree to the new price, cancel before that renewal. If you do not cancel, you agree to pay the new price.

9. Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, we and our payment processor may retry the charge and may ask you to update your payment method. If payment is not completed within three (3) days after the end of the paid period, your subscription and license end and the Software stops working. Ending access for non-payment does not cancel any amount already owed. You can restore access by subscribing again at the price then in effect; a launch discount is not restored.

10. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you dispute or reverse a valid charge with your bank or card issuer (a "chargeback") instead of contacting us, your license will be terminated immediately and all of your devices deactivated, without notice. We may contest the dispute using our records, including your acceptance of these Terms, and we may refuse to sell to you in the future. A charge is valid if it was made under these Terms, including a renewal you did not cancel in time.

11. Restrictions

By subscribing to and using the Software, you agree that you will NOT:

  1. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software or any part of it, including but not limited to the licensing mechanism, activation system, or server communications, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
  2. Attempt to circumvent, crack, bypass, or tamper with the license validation, activation process, subscription checks, or any copy protection mechanisms.
  3. Copy, redistribute, sublicense, resell, rent, or share the Software, your license key, your account, or any derivative work based on the Software.
  4. Create competing or derivative products based on the Software's design, functionality, or codebase.
  5. Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, etc.) to interact with the Software's licensing infrastructure.
  6. Share your license key or account publicly or with any third party.

12. Intellectual Property

The Software, including its source code, design, UI/UX, and all associated materials, is the exclusive intellectual property of its creator. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

13. Suspension and Termination

Violation of these Terms (including but not limited to cracking, reverse engineering, unauthorized distribution, account sharing, or circumvention of the licensing system) may result in immediate suspension or termination of your license and account, civil liability, and/or criminal prosecution under applicable law, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

We may remotely deactivate licenses found to be in violation of these Terms. If we suspend or terminate your license because you breached these Terms, you will not receive any refund or credit, and any amounts owed remain payable.

14. Changes to the Software

We may update, change, add, or remove features of the Software at any time. Your subscription gives you access to the Software as it exists from time to time; it does not guarantee any particular feature, platform, or release date. Updates released during your active subscription are included at no extra charge.

15. No Warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with your equipment. Use of the Software with Riedel Bolero hardware is at your own risk.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the creator of the Software be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Total liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

17. Release of Claims and Covenant Not to Sue

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BY SUBSCRIBING TO AND USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU VOLUNTARILY, KNOWINGLY, AND IRREVOCABLY RELEASE, WAIVE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE DECT, ITS OWNER(S), OFFICERS, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, CAUSES OF ACTION, DAMAGES, LOSSES, COSTS, AND LIABILITIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

You expressly covenant not to sue DECT or any of the released parties for any claim released above. This release includes, without limitation, claims arising from:

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States of America. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, except where the law of your country of residence gives you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be sent to the email address on your account and will apply from your next renewal after the notice. Continued use of the Software, or not cancelling before that renewal, constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The Software may ask you to accept updated Terms before you continue using it.
